Yo Soy. Spanish for "I Am."

Satya (SAH-tee-yah). Sanskrit for "Truth."

Drawn from her Hispanic roots, Yo Soy Satya is the culmination of Soña's personal journey into yoga, and her commitment to helping individuals, communities, and the planet benefit from the ancient living wisdom of yoga, Ayurveda, and other ancient healing traditions from around the world. What started as a path of one individual has evolved into a global collective of truth-seekers, inspired to support and empower each other and change the world.

 

SOÑA HERNANDEZ BRIGGS

FOUNDER & CEO

Soña is a Conscious Entrepreneur, E-RYT-500 Yoga Instructor, Certified Holistic Practitioner, Reiki Master, and founder of Yo Soy Satya. Her love for yoga comes from her own deep personal transformation; healing decade old injuries from a near-fatal car accident, weight loss, liberation of anxiety and depression, and an awakening to her truth (Satya). She now devotes her life to sharing the wisdom of self-healing with others, believing fully that we all have the deep-rooted capacity to take charge of our destiny, heal ourselves and invoke lasting personal transformation in our lives. Sona's holistic lifestyle including business, yoga, energy anatomy, design, music, and love of the outdoors are all expressions of this devotion.    

Trained in Kripalu and Himalayan Institute based philosophy, Soña's teaching conveys the depth of her experience and lifelong dedication as a student of holistic health and yoga. Her style reflects the teachings of her sages Bhava Ram, Anne Mascelli, Laveta Piemme, Jennifer Yost, Eric Schiffmann, Donna Farhi, Lauren Walker, Rupert Sheldrake, Nassim Haramein, Max Strom, Shari Friedrichsen, Sandra Anderson, Ishan Tigunait, Jennifer Reis, and many others.    

 

Soña approaches life with compassion for all, creatively sharing the living wisdom of yoga to inspire and awaken students to the transformative power of self-inquiry, humor, and of course yoga.

Jenn's grounding belief is that our purpose and duty as humans is to live in a way that brings us closer to our best and highest self, "Dharma". For Jenn, the path of yoga is a continuing practice toward that end and a grounding force for joy in her life. Through meditative practices that unite mind and body, Jenn has discovered her dharma: empowering the journey of self-love, compassion, and joy with and for others.

Jenn is an RYT-500, trained and certified in various styles of yoga, including Vinyasa, trauma-informed, and aerial yoga; Reiki; Ayurveda; mindful movement practices and modalities; death/grief companioning; and life coaching. In addition to leading the 200-hr Satya Yoga Immersion program and leading classes within the collective, Jenn also offers a monthly "Inner Alchemy" embodied coaching program and runs all the behind-the-scenes aspects at Yo Soy Satya. She is passionate about creating space for others to transform their lives into gold.

A lifelong student of meditative practices Katie has deepened her authentic connection to self through the science of Vedic studies and Yoga. “My practice is what serves me continuously, not for the achievement but rather for the pure joy of the practices themselves.” Katie is committed to sharing the living wisdom traditions that have thrived in the East for thousands of years. Most of which have gone undiscovered here in the West. Practices that involve awareness and attention on the subtle body which illustrates our physical experience.  All are welcome in joy, love, and acceptance.

DENISE BUNNER

INSTRUCTOR & SATYA MENTOR

Denise Bunner, M.A., L.P.C., is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a 500 HR Registered Yoga Teacher.  Denise has retired from the full-time practice of therapy after working in the mental health field for 20+ years as a trauma therapist and advocate for mental wellness.   

Since embarking on the yogic path in 2010, Denise has completed the following Yoga Programs: Satya Yoga Immersion 500 hour Program; Energy Medicine Yoga 300 Hour Master Teaching Program under the direction of Lauren Walker.

Denise is currently teaching Energy Medicine Yoga (EMYoga) and Deep Flow Yoga for the past 5 years in both Erie and Fairview, PA. EMYoga seamlessly integrates yoga poses and energy movement to dynamically increase the healing power of all levels of yoga. Denise has recently begun studying with the Eden Energy Medicine Program to deepen her understanding of Energy Medicine. Denise is a Karuna Reiki Master Teacher and Practitioner who weaves the practice into her yoga practice and classes.

ROBIN CRAIG

INSTRUCTOR & SATYA MENTOR

Robin’s love for yoga developed from a time when problems with her own health and anxiety were at a peak. Through the gentle healing nature of the practice, she began to live from a place of joy and abundance. As a Satya Yoga Immersion graduate, Robin’s daily practice of yoga and meditation is considered her most treasured gift to herself. Yoga has given her the distinct belief in the connectivity of everything on this beautiful Earth, and everything beyond.

While Robin juggles the roles of a working mom, yoga has imparted upon her a way to live with grace and equanimity throughout any situation. Specifically, as a child mindfulness advocate, she hopes to instill this philosophy into the public school sector to create a kinder, gentler education system for all. Robin hopes to inspire ways to calm the mind, enliven the body, and create a union between the two with all of her students.

JENNIFER GRUBE

INSTRUCTOR & SATYA MENTOR

Jennifer came to yoga looking for a way to engage her body and reduce anxiety. In addition to what she was seeking,  what she found was a practice that fosters a reverence for life, encourages the wonder of stepping into the mystery of the unknown and furnishes a sacred space where we can shed our exterior selves and let go of mental noise.

For Jennifer, yoga is about nurturing balance — balance between strength and flexibility, effort and ease, inward and outward relations. Jennifer offers breath-inspired, mindful practice blending elements of Hatha, Vinyasa, pranayama, and meditation. Her intention is to provide space for reflection, rejuvenation, and reconnection with self.

Jennifer is a graduate of the Satya Yoga Immersion.

BRENDA KASSAB

INSTRUCTOR & SATYA MENTOR

Brenda is a graduate of the Satya Yoga Immersion. Through yoga, Brenda has found her true intentions, her divine strength, and her highest edge. Her daily practice allows her to surrender to her truth, to love a little more, and to stand on her own two feet.  Yoga encourages Brenda to keep going, rise above, and lift up others along the way.  In her offerings, you can expect to focus inward, channel prana through the body, and open up space for the breath to flow.  After practicing with Brenda you will feel energized, renewed, and empowered. 

 

Brenda's intention is to guide you to connect with your highest self by calming the mind, being guided by your heart space, and listening to the soul’s whisper as you quiet the ego. The fire and passion in Brenda will meet, see, and honor the fire and passion within you. Namaste

PATTY KLEBAN

INSTRUCTOR & SATYA MENTOR

Patty found yoga during a transition period in her life several years ago. Her adult daughters encouraged her to practice yoga with them and she never looked back! Yoga has given her breath, mindfulness, and a new lens through which to see the world. Patty is passionate about the lessons that she learns on her mat which carry over into everyday life, and is eager to share that with others. She loves what yoga has done for her body and mind, and she thrives in the community that yoga provides.

 

Patty is a RYT-500 and Reiki Level I certified, studying with the Satya Yoga Immersion and Wellness In Motion studio. She is passionate about introducing new people to yoga. Her classes focus on bringing breath and movement together along with the study of the tenets of yoga so that each class offers new takeaways for you to practice on and off your mat. She looks forward to practicing with you and sharing this journey together!

HILLA ROGEL

INSTRUCTOR

Hilla Rogel is an RYT-200, 85-hour ChildLight Prenatal yoga instructor, and middle school math teacher. She is trained in Satya yoga, working with both adults and kids to bring together her love of teaching and love for practicing yoga. She focuses on finding the balance in the physical body and mind through movement and stillness.

 

For Hilla, yoga is a way to be fully present in order to find joy in life's everyday moments, both on and off the mat. The mind, body, spirit connection that helps each of us shine in the world is what Hilla loves about yoga and hopes to share with others.

JOY SCIABICA

INSTRUCTOR & SATYA MENTOR

Joy is an RYT-500 and has been cultivating yoga’s transformative force throughout her adult life. Healing and wellness are the core motivators of her teaching. Seeing students become progressively more at home in their bodies, connect with their true nature, and find rejuvenation in the practices inspires her teaching. Educated in the visual arts and architectural design, she offers a creative, fresh approach in her classes. Bringing yoga’s immense healing benefits to all those drawn to the practice, regardless of physical ability, is Joy’s heartfelt intention.


Joy’s yoga studies range from ancient wisdom teachings and theories of yoga to practical adaptations of classical physical forms, making yoga accessible to any body. She has studied with contemporary yoga masters and her peers with equal delight. Joy began teaching yoga in 2016 upon completing the Satya Yoga Immersion program. She completed her advanced yoga teacher training with the Integral Yoga Institute.

Joy's certifications include stress management and Raja Yoga through the Integral Yoga Institute; Therapeutic Yoga; and Accessible Yoga. She is also specialized in Trauma Sensitive Prison Yoga through the Transformation Yoga Project and ParaYoga Nidra with Rod Stryker.
